Brandon Boyd During Encore

Brandon Boyd During Encore

My Hollywood Bowl Experience is typically always the same.  It pretty much sucks until the band i came to see plays.  Then all the crap you have to wade through to get to that point all becomes worth it.  This night was no different.  The bad parking, exhausting hike up the various hills, long lines for everything, Stupid people and the painfully boring Duke Spirit all was worth it to hear Incubus!  So before I knew it, It was dark and the lights on stage turned a bright blue and some figures walked on the stage.  The crowd went crazy!

These guys were amazing!  Bands like Incubus can not be captured on a CD.  The power & energy of the music was captivating!  The song selection was near perfect!  They gave the crowd a great show!  I was surprised they didn’t play their new single which is unusual as most band try to push the new stuff. Even go so far as to skip some of their older more popular songs, Metallica did this when I saw them last December.

My Favorite songs, Megalomaniac, Wish Your Were Here and the grand finale Aqueous Transmission! Were most impressive! Overall Incubus is an awesome live band!  I would love to see them in a smaller venue like the Gibson or Greek Theatre.  If you get the chance to see Incubus do!

Incubus live Rating Rating: ★★★★★

  1. It was a good concert! My co-worker, Tiss, was there too, which I thought was totally random!

  2. I really enjoyed them as well! It’s my third time seeing them play. I saw them them at the Verizon Wireless and at the Greek (now Hollywood Bowl) and it was Amazing to see them in a smaller venue like the Greek. I love their music. The Duke Spirit was o.k. She seemed like a glam rocker in a sense with a hippie style. It was cool. I love music and I always go to concerts. The next one is Depeche Mode in August and Placebo in Sept. I haaaaate the parking too. It sucks (stack parking) or pay 1.2 million to go higher on the hill. Anyways wondering if you caught the music on the “preshow” kroq? but there was a song that sounded kind of rockabilly or something. I’ve been trying to find the name of it but all I have is the tune in my head. (I know it’s like looking for something with blinders on) they kept on wrapping the music in way that the same songs played over and over. Here is my shot at trying.

  3. I think by the time we got to our seats Duke Spirit was attempting to entertain ;-) I went and got a drink and see if they had the green incubus shirt I wanted. They did :-)

So Kroq was playing music before Duke Spirit got up? I can never get there before the opening band. Traffic and Life never let me get their on time.
