Resistance is the 5th studio album from MUSE, and once again Muse didn’t disappoint! Muse much like the Killers always puts out some really good tunes! Matthew Bellamy unmistakably haunting vocals, make distinguishing a Muse song easy. Muse unlike bands like Tantric don’t rely solely on their vocals to carry the band. Muse always has great variety in their sound.
Resistance as a whole album is very easy to listen to all the way through. I am not sure this is best album that Muse has ever put out but they have put out some really great albums so that really isn’t saying much. Resistance came out September 7th and I would have had this review out earlier if it wasn’t for me erasing my blog database and needing to do a backup recovery.
I went to the concert with Lauren, Her Sister and their Friend Amber. I had never met Amber before, but thought she was super cool, going to school to be a lawyer for good! I took off early from work to head down and pick them up. I arrived at Lauren’s house to a bunch of girls trying to get ready for a concert, enough said…LOL We got out there in a pretty reasonable time frame, they did better then I thought they would. I learned that girls debate about wearing something called Chicken cutlets… I don’t think it is real chicken.
We started to head down toward Hollywood, hit a little bit of traffic. Lauren was doing something to Janessa’s eyes, not sure what. I was ranting like an old man about politics to Amber, she didn’t seem to mind or maybe she was being polite. I kept looking back telling Janessa that she looked worse then before…LOL
We parked at the Church near the Hollywood bowl, only place to park for a concert at the Hollywood bowl. It is cheap only $20, and they don’t stack people in there! So once you walk down the hill you can go! Once we made sure Janessa had the tickets we walked over to Hollywood and Highland and got some food at CPK. They sat us outside which was cool because Panic at the Disco! was playing a free concert for Hot Topic about 20 yards away or so. Best Dinner Music I have ever had.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that Killers will go down as ONE OF the greatest American bands! Now before you Music snobs make a mess in your dickey’s listen up. These guys just don’t miss! From “Hot Fuss” all the way to there most recent album “Day & Age”, they nail it every time! The music is always solid. Even their B-Side record Saw Dust is awesome! I keep expecting them to put out an average record.
Brandon Flowers shows glimmers of Freddie Mercery at times, NO he doesn’t have the “pipes” that Freddie did but who in Rock does? I referring to his stage presences. Musically The Killers always have so much going on, I love that they have a Keyboard! I think it adds so much!
I usually go to House of Billards down in Sherman Oaks to watch football. It is a 20 minutes drive on Sunday but they are better then any place around Santa Clarita. They charge $5 but have every game on. This will be my 3rd year going here.
When I came out this hunka junk was parked next to me with about 8 rolls of duct tape holding the bumper up. I think there was a family of opossums living up in side it.
I was planning on updating on my fantasy football team this last week, but I had blog issues! So I am combining my recaps of both Week 1 and Week 2
WEEK 1
Picked up New Orleans Wide out Devery Henderson from Free agency. He actually ended up being my guy with the highest point at 16. Kurt Warner played like crap only got 13, in fact I had 4 guys total with 13 points. Dallas’ Defense was pathetic with out 2 freakin points! It wasn’t pretty but I did win…
I won! 89 to 75 – Record 1-0
WEEK 2
Almost would have ended in disaster if I didn’t make some smart choices.
Dropped Dallas and Picked up Green Bay’s defense.
Gave Kurt Warner & Andre Johnson a chance to redeem themselves
Ignored the NFL’s advice and stuck with Tony Gonzalez and not Zach Miller who was suppose to have a huge day.
Mistakes I made
I benched Kevin Smith of Detriot for Ahmad Bradshaw. Figured Smith against the Minnesota D was going to be bad news which is was, but I would have got 4 extra points if I stuck with Smith.
Why I benched my all star Devery Henderson from last week I will never know.
My division opponent I was playing had also won and was ahead of me because he scored more points last week. So this game was important for playoffs later. Week 2 started with a bang. Andre Johnson had a huge day with 26 points! Kurt Warner had a good day. Tony Gonzalez and Deangelo Williams both had respectable day & despite Green Bay giving up huge ammounts of yardish again they made some stuff happen and netted 10 more points then Dallas the last week! I pretty much had most of my points by the 3rd quarter of the morning games. *Update 104 was the highest score for week 2!
Awesome as usual! Riley has a pretty good attitude considering his cage went from 2 to 5, and the baby birds keep crapping in the water! Come on! We drink that! HA
Penny
Penny is doing well after becoming a mother. She has actually become LESS aggressive, key word there is less. It took her about 2 years to realize that I am not a threat. Now I think she just doesn’t like me and wants me to go away.
Adio
Adio is kind of a punk spoiled brat. I tried to give him a girlfriend and he kept chasing her around the cage. Now because I rescued Sergeant and he has Riley and Penny’s old cage. So little Adio has a huge cage all to his self!
Baby Birds
I need to find homes for these guys. Plus the boy keeps bangin’ his sister! NOT COOL! Who taught him that!
Sergeant
Sergeant has really grown on me. He is very territorial of his cage and gets obsessed with stuff. For 2 months he was in love with a band aid box. Seriously!
Jinxy Cat
Jinxy is obsessed with Lauren and Lauren is obsessed with dressing him up with fun hats.
