The 2009 NFL season kicks off tonight with the Titans and Steelers [aka Squealers], which means Fantasy Football time! I have done well the last two years, so well apparently I wasn’t invited back. I guess that is one way to stack the deck in your favor, exclude the guy who won it last year, I also got excluded from the one at work. That one actually bothered me, because one person made sure I knew they were excluding me, not that they just forgot to include me. Quite RUDE actually, but whatever their loss!

This year, I am playing with one of my friend Brandon. We have been friends since I lived down in San Diego. I actually got to have lunch with him last week because he was coming back from Bakersfield.

When I first saw who I drafted, I wasn’t particularly happy with it. But on second glance, I am actually ok with it. Players can be so hit and miss sometimes you really don’t know what to except year to year. I am not particularly excited to have Kurt Warner, I have just seen him as a Hit or Miss player. Last year, I had Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers, surprisingly I ended up starting Aaron Rodgers most every week. I think Peyton Manning only out scored him one week.

I will be keeping my eye out for the hot player early. I am usually good at picking up a free agent that gets hot. Last year it was Jones Drew, who in most leagues was ranked #2! The year before it was Wes Welker. Picking up Free Agents is key to consistent success during the season.
